The Castle Ground

With the construction of Agathenburg Castle, Hans Christoph von Königsmarck pursued the typical baroque program of a total work of art: with a castle building, central avenue, gatehouse, and large baroque garden. This reflects the count's desire for self-representation and for equality among the Swedish high nobility.
